Even before the final verdict is out, Congress and JD(S) have made their Dosti public with Kumaraswamy as their new leader. This has come as a huge shock to the BJP that was dreaming to form the next government even though it is short of 8 MLAs to touch the magic figure. Apparently, Congress has approached JD(S) three days in advance to initiate talks i.e soon after the polls were concluded for a coalition. The mastermind behind the move is said to be Priyanka Gandhi. It was Priyanka who turned the tables swiftly. She had suggested the idea to offer CM post to Kumaraswamy and offer support to JD(S) unconditionally. The idea is to avoid BJP in the South and especially in Karnataka, which is considered as Congress bastion. Upon Priyanka's advice, Sonia had dialed Deve Gowda and locked the deal. This is after learning lessons from Goa, Manipur and Meghalaya where BJP formed the government notwithstanding that Congress had emerged as the largest party. Taking cue from the past, Congress this time acted in advance to stop the BJP. With Kumaraswamy and Deve Gowda are quite impressed with Congress' unconditional support and offer to become the CM, JD(S) and Congress bonded quite well without any scope for the BJP. This is indeed a well-planned and well-executed move by the Congress. That's how Priyanka gave a huge shock to Congress in Karnataka. WE THE NORTH | ||
