What Seshan did was, he just 'implemented EC rules' which were already existing,but no Election commissioner dared to do So no court or Govt were able to intervene and stop him | ||

One of the legends, he changed the way elections are run. He will be best remembered as the man who cleaned up Indian elections. Great orator. He is a no-nonsense guy, had stick to the plan and executed it. Chandra sekhar govt (then lame duck govt) helped him as well. Subbu swamy is the one who got him election commissioner post. He is the one who set deadline to govt that if voter cards are not issued, elections will not be held in 1995. He is the one who put restriction on expenses.... also i think he disqualified around 20k politicians at that time due to criminal charges.. | ||
