http://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/tp-national/What-the-ru le-book-says-on-resignation-of-Lok-Sabha-MPs/article15325799 .ece An interesting extract from this article: (any guesses why Y S Viveka unwillingly sent his resignation? "Speaker Somnath Chatterjee has adopted this procedure with respect to all individual resignations received by him. For instance, in August 2004, just months after the general election, Mr. Chatterjee received the resignation letter of Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, the younger brother of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. According to sources, Mr. Chatterjee was not convinced by the letter. He summoned the younger Mr. Reddy for a meeting where he found the latter evasive and confused. He advised Mr. Reddy to return home and think it over. Mr. Reddy did not return, and did not press his resignation." "Sakshi is a most balanced and independent media. This has no affiliation with any political party," Jagan had said.
