Idi pachhi boothu. Never trust CKGS. Ask for a Government Order (GO) reference for this fact. After Sept 2018, international aviation administration is considering ONLY electronically readable travel documents. Many of initially issued PIO cards are Manual(check your PIO card if it was handwritten, one of my kid's PIO was hand written and another one is machine readable PIO). Such PIO cards may not be validated by Airports while traveling and transiting across the airports. But, for India, to arrive, there is no Mandatory need for a entry permit(visa, PIO etc like entry to US, since India got on arrival visa). Having said that, its NOT the PIO card which gets invalid(THUPUK and TUPUK CKGS), its the manual travel document which may not be machine readable thus, troubles in travel. If I am in your shoes, I will check If PIO card is manual or machine readable. If machine readable, I dont give a sh*t to the CKGS. If its manual, still I dont care since to arrive in India, I dont need to furnish an entry permit, I can always say that I am getting on arrival visa. But if you get any opportunity , advised to get the OCI card, just to have a clean slate but dont worry if you didnt get one. | ||

CKGS just replied saying PIO is valid until September 2018. So, I am good. Anyone travled to India with the PIO card recently? As usual, I was lazy.. now need to travel and CKGS says: https://www.in.ckgs.us/news-notices they are valid until september 2018 |
