Check out Flame and Ashoka. Ashoka is the latest, set up a 4-5 years back by big industrialists like Naukri, Chrys Capital, Make My Trip founders. It has taken off really well. Set up in Sonepat, around 50 kms from Delhi, it has been seeing a lot of interest from students already. Flame was the first of its kind in India. Flame is a lot more difficult to get into than Ashoka which is just taking root. It is important that kids get multidisciplinary learning comprising arts, design, science, politics, history etc. That is what these schools aspire to. Manamu AP lo engineering, medicine ani koochuntamu and we don't end up playing a strong role in policy making, think tanks, opinion making etc. A graduate from SRCC or Stephen's has a lot more market value than any of the new IIMs or IITs, leave aside other engineering colleges. | ||

Until their own campus comes up, Krea will be based out of IFMR's campus. They are building their own campus on 200 acres. Apart from the top 6 IITs and top 4 IIMs, rest are all bakwaas. Even after 20 years, IIM Kozhikode and IIM Indore have not got any sort of standing or reputation among either students or academia. | ||

Flame and Ashoka have been doing very well with lots of people fed up of traditional science and IIT bandwagon. More than all these mindless IITs and IIMs that will struggle to get traction because of lack of faculty and infrastructure, Krea is the way to go. Am surprised that the media is not covering this more. I would gladly give up these random IIT and IIMs for one of these. A real feather in Babu's cap |
