Tech stack doesn't matter babai. Whatever stack you use - you can always lift and shift to AWS cloud - just infrastructure maaruthundhi anthe.

If you want to use the PaaS offerings - that is a different story.

DB MySQL vaadithe - you can use RDS or just MySQL on a VM. In fact internal app antunnaav kaabatti, if the database is not too huge and it is not a high traffic scenario - you can keep the application code and the database on the same instance.

Build everything on an Ubuntu server on-premise. (Apache2/MySQL - LAMP stack basically) Then shift it simply to an Ubuntu EC2 instance on AWS. Security Groups lo whitelist your internal IPs for port 80 communication and you are all set. Kaavaalante put everything inside a VPC on EC2.

I am not an expert of AWS though. So wait for the others to respond.

Brothers need your expertise....

I have to build a small internal web application with a simple UI (max 2 screens) that would store retrieve data from 4/5 tables (not huge by any means). This application should have capability to consume data through web service.

The catch here is this application should initially be residing on premise and should have capability to be in a "lift and shift" mode when moved to AWS Cloud (preferably not on VMware)

I need to know what would be suitable tech stack for this scenario to build the application on premise...

TIA
