You are right.. American area is picking up. But I preferred Irvington for few reasons 1) Freeways 880, 680 are handy. 2) Balanced between Southbay and East bay(I had a huge family and relatives in southbay) 3) Warmsprings bart is handy for SF access. On the other hand, I had this house(that you gave link) in my fav list already. missed the weekend open house. I may try to see if I can have a visit. If we can get it for $1Mil, I will cut the check immediately (already got pre approval for up to i.s mil house). I will check this house seriously . Thanks for your thoughts around this. | ||

10 years of service in Facebook is awesome He must have been part of the founding members engineering team. So, it's a huge deal. Millions and High Salaries are not common. Regular 100K to 120K jobs are normal for 10 to 15 years experience people. People in Key engineering positions or Product Company first entrants and RSU holders have the huge paychecks or reserves. Average performers are Mango people then  The pay difference was huge 10 years ago. With all the off shore and availability of newer talents for lower pay it's not much of a difference unless you are extremely analytical or talented in your respective field. If you are highly skilled and competitive Bay Area is the place, if you want to relax or put your average efforts this is not the choice unless you have acquired properties long ago. | ||

Irvington is matching Mission San Jose prices per sqft. We actually started our search there and ended up in American High School area as it is not far behind in schools, you will get more house for the same money. The schools will catch up fast with all the influx of Asians. We are very happy with the schools now. What worked for us is picking up a fixer-upper and doing the remodels as we pool the money later.
