One question on concept .. As per below image's simple example - Step 1. A transfer money to B, Step 2.the block is broadcasted to all parties in network Step 3. Those in network approve the transaction, Step 4.the bock is added to chain Step 5.Money moves to B account https://www.infoholicresearch.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01 /How-block-chain-works.jpg If we observe this example, here also we have middle people or layer (other than A and B). Then How BlockChain can replace or threat to companies like KPMG or DTCC ? OR is question itself doesn't make sense ? |

K805:@Platypus - I remember you are planning to start a group, what happened to that? Is there any specific programming language or regular C, Java, Python can suffice?
it can be done in any language. BitCoin was done in C++ Ehterium was done in c++, python Hypeledger by IBM in Java and golang if you are interested there are open source projects for blockchain, pick the language of your liking or proficiency and become a contributor. thats the best way to go about it. |

A few more. Have to run to a meeting 1. Blockchain is not the answer to everything. 2. 70% of the effort in any blockchain project is business process re-engineering. Only 30% is actual technical work. Disclaimer: Do your own research before investing in any cryptocurrency or conventional stocks. My views are my personal opinions. |

Two things quickly 1. It is Blockchain - not Block Chain 2. Blockchain is today's technology. It is more a way of implementing your system than an altogether new bleeding edge technology. 3. In other systems, you enforce trust through an intermediary. Blockchain brings trust into the system inherently. It is immutable by nature and so there's no need for an external audit. KPMG can write off 50% of their business (Not kidding. They know this risk) 4. Centralized/Decentralized - think of it not as a technical or distributed computing system but rather a network of actual organizations - each not having to explicitly trust one another because the system provides that inherently. Blockchain implementations almost always involve multiple parties that do not live inside any one trust boundary. ofcourse you might have already considered the security aspect of hacking a centralized system and the pitfalls it, while hacking into a single node in a distributed network. read some where .. if confidentiality is the only goal and trust is not an issue, then blockchain offers no benefit |

K805:centralized information ??
thats the difference. Blockchain by design is not a centralized system. blockchain is an attempt to give the abilities of a centralized system to a distributed system, and gain the advantages of a distributed system. with a centralized system history is almost always a seperate implementation from the core system, with blockchain history is part of design. |

One use case from that book: When something goes wrong with a complex “system of systems,” such as an aircraft, it’s important to know the provenance, through supply chain management, of each component, down to the manufacturer, production date, batch, and even the manufacturing machine program. Blockchain holds complete provenance details of each component part, accessible by each manufacturer in the production process, the aircraft owners, maintainers, and government regulators. isn't it possible with today's technologies if we have consolidated / centralized information ?? |

I am trying to understand or explore Block Chain concepts and how it will solve today's unsolvable problems. Started reading Block Chain for Dummies from IBM book, in there whatever use cases they mention are can be implementable with today's available technology. I didn't get what Block Chain specially addressing which today's technology can't? Can any please help me to understand what problem Block Chain Solving, which currently available technologies can't? OR point me any link or reference document.. May thanks.. |
