if you are talking about tip, you can change it to others and put whatever you want. I never did zero but I think it is possible. Overall they charge about 3%( which still is big for a charity) | ||

BTW, in all fairness to reveal everything I know.....colleagues are donating directly to avoid GoFundme fees. One Telugu person I know (ex-colleague for many years until last year) is in deep deep trouble. Brain Cancer and very little chance of survival past 6 months. Young kids, both below 10. Financially not strong at all. Lives very very modest. Somehow public charity does not appeal to me. Private charity with big heart makes most sense. But this guy's Gofundme account is created with some modest goal I would say as that money would hardly cover the alternative treatment expenses. He lost his job and out of job for many months. Had a horrible crash last year. Without extended insurance, Canadian health doesn't cover prescription expenses. Wife works small contract job and no insurance coverage. Now after two days, the money raised through Gofundme is exactly ZERO dollars. It seems like the family doesn't know how to solicit or reach out. He is around 50 yrs and probably not comfortable reaching out for donations and probably don't know how to and probably busy taking chemo every day now after surgery. Now comes the dilemma. Dharma sandeham. Is it OK to post that URL here? I can't really explain whats bothering me. But somehow against public charity. Personally, I am not comfortable doing it, but on the other hand, that family could use every help that comes their way. Every penny counts kinda situation. any ideas how to go about it? |
