Because 1. There is lack of revenue generating Industries as all the Industries and Services company were concentrated in Telangana from 1995 onwards 2. AP is surrounded by TS, KA and TN - all of which are industrailly developed and if atleast the ancillary Industries have to come to AP, then a provision like Special Status will attract these units to the new state 3. AP has the longest coastline in India. Using the Special status provisions, the hope was shipping & would expand in AP, especially given the fact that the AP Re-Org bill talks about a Vizag - Chennai Railway Corridor 4. State government does not have proper revenue sources and hence 90% Central grant would be available for necessary Infrastructure works 5. Tax Free status (even for a period of 5 years) will facilitate a lot of corporates to set up their registered offices in AP and this would create employment | ||
