just typing here on how time is calculated in srimad bhagavatham.. for those who are interested. the time line is different in each planetary system - that is deva's have their time lines, Brahma has is own, and solar or human planetary system has their own time but the unit of measurements follow the same rules. 1 atomic particle - that is an indivisible particle that can exist on its own and has the same properties has the element itself. atomic time is time taken by sun to cover the shadow of space of occupied by a particular anu or atom 2 atoms are called dva-anu - or double atom and three such double atoms are called tresarAnu - or hexatom. the hex-atom is the smallest possible light that can be seen when a hole is put on window screen. the time it takes for sun to cover the space of three tresarAnu or hex-atom is called Truti. 100 Truti's is 1 Vedha 3 Vedha's is 1 Lava 3 Lava's is 1 Nimesha 3 Nimesas is 1 Ksana 5 Ksana's is 1 Kastha 15 Kastha's is 1 Laghu 15 Laghu's is 1 Danda 2 Danda's is 1 Muhurtha 6 Muhurtha's is 1/4th day 24 Muhurtha's is 1 day or 1 night 6 Muhurtha's is also 1 Yama 15 days is 1 Paksha 2 Paksha is 1 Masa 2 Masa is rutuh(Season) 6 seasons is the time it takes for Sun to move from north to south or south to north. The months, seasons even the other calculations are relative as time it takes for son to cover a hex-atom will be different on each planetary body. time is physically measure from Danda as unit of measurement. 1 Danda is time it takes for a copper vessel of weight 14 ounces to over flow when it is placed in still water. | ||

not sure what the source of Sadhguru is, but it does not seem to be in accordance with Srimad Bhagavatham. according to Srimad Bhagavatham - it is interpretted that each human year is one day of Devas. satya yuga - 4800 "Deva" years treta yuga - 3600 "Deva" years Dwapara yuga - 2400 "Deva" years Kali Yuga - 1200 "Deva" years Life year is defined as "100" respective years. 1 Human life year - is 100 human years, similarly 1 Deva year - 100 Deva years. 12*1000 deva years is the sum of all yuga, and 1000 of such days is one brahma day, or one day on the planet of brahma. and another 12*1000*1000 deva years is another night from brahma anyway - the point is yuga's are counted in Deva years.. and 1 Deva year is 360 human years. | ||
