Senapathy:

FDA already approved some of these drugs/therapies. I was listening to NPR and they said billions of dollars are invested by invested after initial results. It got huge money. I am too positive on this becoz of current technology and the developments in medicine.
If it is a success then human might be immortal.

Jake_ryan:

Still under initial testing. But this therapy is very expensive as it is personalized medicine. You need to take B-cells out of a human and engineer them to express the antibody of your choice and then reintroduce to the same person. Poor and high rish individuals cannot afford this. But, long way to go.

Vunk. This is promising technology with broad applications. There are still some practical hurdles with each target, but the success rate is very good.

We are also working on CAR-T therapy for HIV infected individuals. Similar approach but different targets.

I would not be very hopeful that this would be the end of cancer. As this approach has to be fine tuned for every type of cancer. And turning these cells off is again a headache. So downstream effects are still untested.

Do you think this would be the end of cancer?

The one dose is touching 500k. The technology looks promising. I never knew that human immune cells can be reprogrammed to attack cancer cells.

83% success rate is very promising. What is your opinion?
