Keep aside your political biases & your love / hate for different religions and you will see the reality. Real Estate which was a big source of unorganized employment is in tatters due to Demonetization and poorly implemented GST. Lowering of Interest rates has not helped increase sales the way it happened in 2004/05. Come what may - People had faith in the banking system. Now due to the policies like Demonetization, penalizing Zero balances, Loan write-offs to a few big corporate entities and the news leaks about bank mergers, FRDI etc. that faith has been shaken. SMEs especially in Textiles, Jewelry, lock making, leather etc are hit very hard due to the GO-BIG / ANTI SMALL policies of this Government. Organized labor are also feeling the heat due to the relaxed norms when it comes to lay offs(called as Labour reforms by the media). For the first time companies like HDFC and L&T have laid off employees in thousands! Majority of the PSU employees are not even in a position to fight and are bargaining hard for a decent retirement package! Positives: Stock market traders have stuck Gold A few Import Export firms dealing in commodities like rice, pulses, beef have minted money and are doing well A handful of Engineering companies are doing well due to the government push & support for their forays into International markets like electrification projects in Pakistan, Coal Mines in Australia,Dams in Mongolia etc. A source of employment has been created because of Internet trolls and proliferation of fake news sites | ||
