Agree with Dts that rationalism /objectivism/scientology all are some or other ways of religion. The problem here is so called rationalists/atheists are no less than so called religious fundamentalists when it comes to defending their own stance and promoting their so called "vision". The problem here is not god or anything, it is us who get identified with "something" in this case religion so easily and create a cocoon of ego around it and if anyone tries to puncture it, we come with full force to defend it and sometimes annihilate others who tries to burst your cocoon. This theory of ego+belief concoction is applicable to so called rationalists, atheists, theists as well. So in short, it is very easy to use the inflated ego balloon of a religious believer to any possible extent like converting him to a suicide bomber,a killer, a rapist , murderer without even an iota of remorse in him as his ego+ religious belief provides an emotional cushion to do the wrong deeds. There are lot of similarities between organised religions and organised mafia but mafia or mafia dons will get extinct very soon may be in cycles of 30-40 years but organized religions continue to thrive even for 1000s of years as the final aim of these religions range from something very elusive like entry to heaven, girls to enjoy in heaven to something which promotes ego and adrenaline rush like conquer, pillage, enjoy without remorse to esoteric goals like all this world should come under one banner and there is only one god and all other gods are fake etc., try reading yoga vasistham, it might lead you some where | ||

Based on your 7 points I can't call it research. First of all you said you did research on religion but on your point 1 you are talking about god. You're not in a position to distinguish between god and religion. Maybe you are thinking both are interchangeable. Also, rationalism has long been disproved. And,by the way, it is a religion. If you define religion as a way of life (in which god exists as per your understanding but it is not so) then rationalism or objectivity are religions (where god does not exist). Your blatant statement that no force exist is wrong. So far there are 5 forces of nature. Furthermore, you are talking about astrology but you're conveniently ignoring astronomy based on which astrology spun out. Astronomy is science and our Vedic knowledge has greater contributions to it. Whereas Astrology is an offshoot of it and is based on probability. So astrology could only give you the measure of certainty. I don't suggest anybody to read books only to say it's a crap; for that purpose you don't have to read them. this is my cycle.... until 10th year i am religious.... 10-18 staunch atheist...my teacher induced strong rational thinking and scientific temper in me.... 18-24----again i became religious...it started with me starting yoga for physical fitness...astanga yoga,Patanjali sutras etc... done following... 1)surya namaskaras 2)kapala bhati 3)asanas like padma,vajra, sarvanga ,mayura etc etc kriyas like sudra, jala neti vastra jala douthi sanku praksalana(huge painful one dont know how many of you had done it) in these years I studied following scriptures mahabarata, ramayan, bhagavata, gita, upanishad kalpataruvu, brahmasutra bhasyas...and some puranas like narada,vishnu,brahma puranas.... started vendanta panchadasi but never completed. 24-25...world/ European tour and seeing other civilizations .... now came to the conclusion that god, as we worship, is wrongdoing...and every religion established a hierarchical system and ladder system...even europeans shed blood in the name of religion and the main reason for existence of some countries like the Netherlands, Belgium itself is the result of sectarion violence in religion....reformists,calvanists vs catholics but.... the main reason for this segregation in every religion itself again is socio-economic in nature example: as when there is only one denomination in Christianity almost all land is owned by pope and king is appointed by him too...at which time gutenbergs printing revolution combined with luther kings ideology led to the popular belief that pope is not supreme authority ...consequence is kings converting to Lutheranism because they can own the land instead of pope which happened in northern countries and England..... same with us...some people want to control the whole society and like to keep in their grips everyone in the name of religion....that's why even after the advent of technology still this type of mystic beliefs in our society....if we question label them as sickular and anti-hindu...what has this to do with religion asking our people to reform ourselves from blind is no way against religion. the only thing left is to study about Islam ....as far as i see its most disgusting religion belief system of all...will say about it fully after studying it after a month. } idi moderator cheta cheripiveyabadindi... | ||
