part 3: now fast forward to nearly-mid 20th century..church control over west is slowly waning..people becoming secular athiests exploring other cultures etc.. as a result retailers started rolling back jesus religious symbols and started selling original secular symbols ornaments etc which were the root of XMAS anyways.. SANTA CLAUS started occupying center stage with XMAS Tree popularity growing.. part 2.. church Xian grops succesfully hijack what was winter festivies and made it birth of jesus.. years centuries passed..but spirit of original festivities did not die...merry making, dance, shop,spend,decorate with pagan dolls items trees etc..people wished everyone 'merry' xmas.. church doesnt like it..this is against spirit of Xianity..it has to be happy peaceful and serving god..not these kind of njoyements.. so they propose people say 'Happy Holiday' meaning happy, the day of Holy(Jesus).. but people no father mother listening..'merry' was peoples slogan.. also some segments of Xians proposed a ban on xmas..since it is anti christ..and in fact it was banned as well in various places in europe..and also in US until some 18th century.. but the spirit refused to die..people slowly started celebrating it back again.. so when u cant fight..u atleast become part of it and show ur influence..so church xians groups finally let xmas happen but with jesus, birth of jesus being at center stage.. end of part 2.. | ||

Danekka..the more i read/research about it, it gets even more intriguing.. so first roots of XMAS..has nothing to do with church or Xianity..it lies in various pre christian european pagan cultures.. so pre Xian rome..they used to celebrate sun god mid winter around end of december..when days slowly start becoming longer again..they called it rebirth of sun..saturnia something..so merry making, feasting wine mandhu pondhi vindhu gambling all were part of festivities.. alage ancient germanic people, to cheerup and lift the spirits of people going through cold winter they used to have mid winter festivities..shopping wine dine decoarations songs putting up trees at home were part of festivities.. alage nordic cultures had similar celebrations.. so now here is the twist..as these celebrations begain growing..and also as europe started tunring into Xianity..appudu enter the dragon..church.. how can these people have these celebrations without involving their god jesus..so all previous local gods were shunned..jesus introduction happens..his bday which is later in january or april something was moved to Dec end...and festival was named christmas..signifying birth of jesus.. end of part 1.. |
