The Madras High Court has taken a serious note of the comments made by Tamil superstar Vijayâs father about Tirumala temple, and order a probe into the matter. Vijayâs father SA Chandrasekhar, in his speech at a local event in Chennai last month, allegedly said the offerings made by devotees at Tirumala temple are nothing but âbriberyâ. Describing his comments as inciting, a Hindu religious group in Chennai filed a petition in Madras High Court demanding stern action against Chandrasekhar. In the petition, they alleged that the comments had hurt the religious sentiments of Hindu community. Responding to the petition, the Madras High Court reportedly ordered a probe into the alleged controversial comments made by Vijayâs father, and directed the Greater Chennai Police to arrest him if he was found guilty. When Vijayâs âMersalâ was engulfed in controversy recently, some BJP leaders targeted him by aiming at his religion.
