i meant apart from that.

But, even if demonet was not there, GST should have been thought through in terms of tax percentages on products. Maybe they need to see what kind of revenue/transactions would come up and then decide (keeping politics aside).

This is the October trade deficit, it is a 3 year high. Last month data was an aberration ani nenu cheppa. And now with oil on the upswing, this number can become even higher.

With demo and now with GST, we have lost a historic opportunity to create jobs in the area of textiles, footwear etc. The global economy is booming and countries like Vietnam, Indonesia, Bangladesh are having a great last few years and are making hay while we are wasting our time in peeping into others bedrooms, doing unplanned vainglorious acts. Textiles hubs like Tirupur have been devastated by demon.

yeah annai....motham Small medium scale unorganized sectors ni nakinchesadu single pen stroke tho...naa badha kooda ade...economy peaking ayye time lo complete ga 1-2 years efforts/time/janala focus motham wasted...now its going to get tough to get the growth back...growth meeda / business expand ayye dani meeda pettalsina focus vere ekkadooo petti time motham waste....

The numbers of returns you are mentioning are only e-returns, not total returns. If someone has filed their returns physically last year and digitally this year, it will show as an increase.

The govt changed the definition of tax payer itself as the no. of tax returns filed rather than no. of tax assessees.

The long term trend over the past many years is a steady 20-30% increase in no. of returns filed. Only FY15-16 was an exception. So to use FY15-616 as a base and show that FY16-17 was great and hence demonetisation was awesome is nothing but obfuscation.

yeah true..I didnt factor this ..adi kooda consider cheshte, lol@Bhakths...

The tax payer data is one big smokescreen that has been put up the govt.

The fact that there are no more arguments left and you have to trot up silly arguments to support demo is in itself disgusting.

Trolls di emundhi le, dabbulu isthe ye vagudu aine vagutharu. Common people are pissed off and o a good deed and don't rub it in that demo was a success. Let bygones be bygones, the more you keep reminding people of the disaster it was, the more negative it will be for BJP.

"The data maintained by the Income Tax Department shows that during April 1, 2017 to August 5, 2017, 2.79 crore e- returns of individual taxpayers were received as against 2.23 crore e-returns received during April 1, 2016 to August 5, 2016. Thus, the additional ITRs received in 2017 works out to be 56 lakh," CBDT said in a statement.
In 2015, 2 crore e-returns were received. This meant that 23 lakh additional tax payers filed returns in 2016.
