Interesting...UK lo Hotmail much more dominant than Gmail...Germany lo both are equals...US lo Hotmail 3rd position behind Gmail and Yahoo. I thougt they were close to extinct...apparently not...but i think power/frequent users lo Gmail will be waay ahead. | ||

..the simple reason is HOTMAIL was the first one to provide free web based email and it can be accessed from any where (where as email offered by ISP can be accessable only from home) and it attracted many users In India internet caught up with the masses very late and by that time gmail was becoming popular as it offered more/unlimited storage space ( when all all other were offering 250 mb) | ||

my first email ID was yahoo(I still use it, I have been the paid yahoo member since then till today.) then hotmail, next comes usa.net, altavista etc.. but Hotmail I use as my secondary email till today. All my Microsoft accounts is hotmail. Also it gets integrated with Outlook app well(there used to be outlook hotmail connector, which does the life easy). Sabir Bhatia.. | ||

Hotmail  security wise it was good compare to gmail, lots of gmail accounts are hacked, my first account was hotmail at that it was famous, so using same for all personal bank related communications | ||
