Between I am running l7, 4 physical cores, windows running centos with VMware player, in that VM I am running about 8 docker containers (Hadoop etc..) very comfirtable | ||

VMware player is more comfortable, you can have flexibility to do things Linux along with Windows Dual boot is is old, now processors are fast, unless you are doing number crunching which put load on CPU avoid it | ||

If you are using Windows 10, you can get the Linux subsystem for Windows installed on it and then download Ubuntu/CentOS from Windows store itself. It will be an icon on your start menu and will open a shell for you. Best if you don't want GUI and deal only with command line interface. | ||
