I understand your Q lets say you are deploying on tomcat or any other server which is built on java min lo min to support development team you need to be hands on with jvm, jre settings know what to look for , where to look for if your research says , problem with some class...as simple as class not found or no such method exists it could be a classpath issue where the library containing the class is missing or of a different version as a dev, i don't expect sys admin to tell me how the class or method is going to work same way...security settings etc. which play a role outside of development kee admin should be able to help for e.g, my app code uses an sftp library to send files but client side sftp server does not support some ciphers the library i use might throw some error...admin has to understand the context and be able to look up server level stuff i dont expect admin to dig through where the error is originating in the code...adhi dev will do also , little knowledge about dumps, memory analyzers ...ivi chaala mandhi devs kooda touch cheyyar most of the time | ||

My skill-set is Java / Android. I have worked with Architect level folks. They do hands-on programming. They do entire Project Code Design. Half hour discussion basis toh they know what architecture to use - MVC, MVP, MVVM etc, they can compare 3rd party-libraries like Dagger vs ButterKnife, compare tools like Travis CI vs Jenkins etc. They are excellent at Rapid Prototyping. They understand the most complex system in half the time, and have ready solutions within split-seconds. Technology Managers on the other-hand are the Voice of the Team.
