In a startling exposure, revenue officials of the state government have found that there are as many as 2,43,650 dubious bank accounts in the name of farmers in 2,440 villages across Telangana. Most of the accounts are either fake or in the name of dead people or have been dormant since they were opened. But most of these accounts are being used by farmers to claim different subsidies. |
