Nobody had an issue with giving PAN card earlier to banks or insurance companies - the issue here is that Aaadhar has become this overarching one-ring-to-rule-them-all kinda thing which is being forced by the govt for every damn service. It can easily end up a a surveillance tool in the hands of a bad government. The government can know which holiday i went to, what did i buy, what did i eat etc. And they are allowing private players to build apps on it and use this as a identification tool. There have been numerous amounts of breaches that have already happened. Atleast with PAN, the damage could be contained to a limited extent and it was not required everywhere. Here one breach can be pretty damaging. Take this case that happened yesterday - this is potentially scary. Please ignore these messages. The petition of all the Aadhar linkages is before the Supreme Court and will be heard in November. Leave aside banks, mobile companies are also forcing people to link aadhaar with their mobile number. All this is based on a incorrect reading of a judgement earlier this year in Supreme Court. If need be i can direct you guys to the twitter accounts of the guys who are leading the fight against all this aadhaar shit and who also fought the privacy case recently which the govt. vehemently opposed. How long is this linking nonsense going to continue, am effing fed up. Even my insurance company wants Aadhaar linkages. Why does a private company need this and what's the effing use. Ease of business my foot. It took me 3 weeks to open a bank account for my minor kid as the surname and name in my aadhaar and pan card changed their places - that shows how we design our forms and how the morons don't understand that surnames and names are written differently across the country. I am sure that our ease of doing business rankings will improve by a few notches just be stopping this eternal Aadhaar linking bs. Where is my ease of living life if i am supposed to be doing umpteen linkages with every kind of public and private service provider. Bstards. | ||

You can convert those accounts to NRI accounts.Most banks do The accounts may be frozen till adhar is linked.So next best thing is to keep minimum balance till you get aadhar number or just close them | ||
