I was able to deploy code to multiple environments using CI/CD. But have issues deploying database using dacpac. it says no agent found for sqlpackage. Any idea how to fix this?

Acf:

also how does the CI/CD work in enterprise applications? i understand we can deploy to lower environments on every code checkin but we cannot deploy to stg and prod on every checkin right? Only when QA signs off then only the code is moved to prod.

Anyone knows how the CI/CD is used in real applications? especially the flow to QA and then to PROD?

Thanks.

Platypus:

If you haven't already this video has some good information about setting up the CI/CD pipeline. https://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Build/2017/P4175

Thanks Platypus, will watch it.

i went over those links to set up build/release and pipeline in TFVS but i dont see anywhere in those articles about setting up different environments in Azure. I will check again.

Platypus:

Deployment slots are for prod/staging. You can swap slots so that prod changes can be tested prior to go-live

we are planning to do the CI/CD but with Jenkins and some open source plugins like Sonar,Artifactory, Jmeter ...have not really started working on it yet.. will see how it goes... I think the above links will give some basic idea for me..thanks annai

I am trying to learn CI/CD and i created a simple webapi using .net core and deployed to azure app service. I set up a pipeline but
How do i create multiple environments (Dev,int, stg, uat, prod) in Azure for my api? I tried creating deployments slots but it looks these are for different purpose since i can only see one link working at any time even though i didnt set the swap slot. I couldnt find any articles in google all of them pointing me to the slots. if anyone knows how to set up multiple environments can you please give me the steps?

also how does the CI/CD work in enterprise applications? i understand we can deploy to lower environments on every code checkin but we cannot deploy to stg and prod on every checkin right? Only when QA signs off then only the code is moved to prod. Also how do we deploy database changes using CI/CD? do we use dacpac?

TIA
