i wouldnt recommand macbook for btech student if he/she is planning to do programming. but oorike internet, movies chudataniki ite ok. but if you insist on buying macbook, amazon india lo manchi deals padutunnai brandnew but 1 year old models pina. which is more than enough. | ||

MB Pro 15" buy non retina off craigslit, which you may get it for around $600 or less. The good part of it is, you can upgrade the HDD, RAM. Usually it will come with 500 GB hdd and 16gb ram. I bought one for home use for $500 (16GB and 500GB non SSD). Bought a 1tb SSHD and added it in the place of its CD drive(yes, this was the last model with CD drive). The bad is.. its bit thick compared to the latest models. MB Air is limited to 8GB ram and max hard drive 500gb SSD(you cant upgrade any latest MBs as they are Single PCB built. | ||

if you are expecting that BTech student to do lot of programming, then the best suited macbook is Macbook Pro 15", which costs around $2000. you can get Macbook Pro 13" costs a little less but it is, in my opinion, way too small to do any meaningful coding for few hours straight. Sare $2k one time cost kada koniddam le anukunna, there are other hidden costs.. charging cable for macbook is too weak.. it almost always break away after few months of usage, if you keep moving it. If you keep it one place like a desktop PC charging cable, then its fine. But a laptop is supposed to be portable, you will carry the laptop and charging cable wherever you go.. and that cable breaks inevitably.. I went though three cables in 4 years. Another biggest concern is cost of repair.. I accidentally broke my laptop screen when it fell from my hands.. about 3ft height nundi kinda pandindi.. it landed on the left side top corner of screen and I immediately started seeing lines on the screen similar to iphone.. in couple of days, those lines spread through out the screen and it was useless.. you know how much the cost of replacement screen was... $700 all in all, cheppochedi enti ante, Btech student, that too in India ante Macbook picha lite.. under $500 chala powerful windows laptops vastayi.. even if it breaks, you can buy him/her three more laptops with the same price as one Macbook} | ||
