Similaly, Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya and Kundali Bhagya defeated Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai in its position. According to the report, Zee Anmol and STAR Bharat are the top two channels taking both urban and rural markets into consideration. They left the usual rankers like Zee TV, STAR Plus and Colors with each of them bagging the third, fourth and fifth positions, respectively. What truly worked wonders for Zee Anmol was the repeat telecast of Nia Sharma-Ravi Dueby’s Jamai Raja , which seemed to have increased the numbers for the channel. Star Network’s new channel Star Bharat seemed to have bagged the second position all thanks to Sonakshi Sinha and Baba Ramdev’s singing reality show Om Shanti Om. These five channels were followed by Sony Pal, Sony Entertainment Television, Rishtey, SONY SABio and STAR Utsav in the same order. Taking into consideration the shows that topped both the urban and rural charts, the India and Sri Lanka’s match on DD National, garnered the maximum viewership last week, followed by Kumkum Bhagya, Jamaai Raja on Zee Anmol, Kundali Bhagya and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 Pain In Spain. These were the top 5 shows in both Urban and rural categories combined. Now coming to the Top 10 Channels in the Urban category, Star Plus topped the list followed closely by Colors, Zee TV, Sony Entertainment Television and STAR Bharat. Star Plus ruled the roost in cities thanks to its popular shows such as Ishqbaaz, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Naamkarann and Chandra Nandini. These five channels were followed by SONY SAB, Zee Anmol, &TV, Sony Pal and Rishtey as the next five rankers in the list. As far as the shows in the cities are concerned, Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati 9 on Sony TV surpassed all other reality shows and daily soaps. Coming close to it is Rohit Shetty’s Khatron Ke Khiladi 8 and Kumkum Bhagya which took the second and third spots respectively. In the fourth and fifth spots were Sony Sab TV’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs respectively. Top 10 channels in rural areas are Zee Anmol, STAR Bharat, Sony Pal, Rishtey, Zee TV, STAR Utsav, STAR Plus, Colors, DD National and Big Magic. The Top 5 shows in the same category are India V/S Sri Lanka’s T20 match on DD National followed by Jamai Raja and Kaala Teeka in the second and third positions. Baalveer in Sony Pal took the fourth while India and Sri Lanka’s 5th ODI took the fifth spot. |
