Stick with star alliance. Best group that has most airlines, best lounges and good membership benefits.United, Lufthansa, Singapore etc has good deals to and fro. | ||

Thanks Bro. The only issue with emirates is that sometimes their prices shoot up like anything. Other than that it is very convinient and I like their Business class. I never travelled by ethihad. However their miles program is similar to emirates. Flights are usually cheaper than emirates. | ||

3 airlines come to mind Singapore airlines : advantages star alliance. You can use miles across several airlines including Air india. Disadvantages long layovers Cathay pacific: advantages oneworld. Same thing you can use miles across. But if you primarily stay in India , there may not be much advantages. Disadvantages;Not as big layover as Singapore but still not comfortable. I had several bad experience . Don't like honkong. Emirates:advantages: excellent connections . Very efficient airlines. Better chances of getting upgraded to business than any I have used so far. Also 24 hrs before they sell business class at a discounted rate( chennai to JFK for just $1000 +) if economy is full . If you book flight on Friday or Saturday , it's almost guaranteed economy is full!! Disadvantages: only emirates . You can't use miles any other lines( maybe jet airways but I don't know exactly) . Inspite of this emirates will be my first choice !! Which ever airline you use, after 5th trip you are likely to start getting noticed and upgrades will be your way. Most of the airlines and hotels have a challenge concept. If you are sure of frequent trips, call the airline and let them know. They will likely give advance status( most stopped doing this recently) or will give you a short eligibility miles in shorter time line. Finally, keep airlines , rental car and hotel miles seperate. Marriott and SPG are combined. So you will get an extensive network there. | ||

Guys due to a new customer and a new opportunity, I need to travel from Hyd to bay area at least 30 times in the next 3 years. I am looking for an airline where I can 1. accumulate miles and get good membership benefits like upgrades, lounge access, priority check in etc 2. get Cheap business class fares so that I can try that once in a while. 3. travel with Single stop with customs in Hyd and san jose/sfo. 4. combine my miles with my hotel stay and domestic(US) travel. Any recommendations. |
