Anyone who suffered bitter disappointment tries knows that they try to hide away in an alternative world Anyone who is honest to themselves will know no matter what they do, the truth follows them day and night. Anyone who is still intense and want to live in the moment every second will know that once the environment stops offering that Kick,they will desperately need substances to keep their energies up else life gets boring. Anyone who don't think only about how to get what they want will not always know what others want. They are lucky if they get others who still care about them. In all these,core is following once's heart ad be true to themselves. Arjun Reddy has them all above and more and most ordinary mortals like us do not have that but would like to be like that. And no wonder most youth connect to it Also, all those who still remember how they were in their youth like him always trying for something adrenaline pumping and heart touching. Having sex 550 times with a girl during his college is a bold thing to be admired. Beating the crap out of other college guy is to be worshipped. Faking all girls after separating from girl friend who gets married is to be revered Drugs, alchohol, hurting own friends, family is to be sympathetically understood. His academic genius gives him immediate acceptance to forgive his mistakes. His one-sided dominant attitude towards a fresher who was never shown on the screen as to what she feels about him, her individuality never developed to show who she is other than hold heros gand one night and freely accept to have sexx with him is to be understood as female freedom. Is Arjun Reddy a chauvinist pig who does not give a shitx about anyone around him because he is driven by his impulsive energies or a rishi meditating in drugs to find the truth? Or is he just a human living his life the way he sees it? He is everything. Good music, clever movie styling, hero elevation, tremendous acting from Vijay and supporting cast make it highly connectable to all. Just like how Yandamuri 80s novels, or a karthik in Mouna Reagan or PK in Gokulam lo Seetha or a Raviteja in Idiot. Honesty, raw energy, sticking to truth in the face of consequence will always connect if presentation style is not loud, vulgar or plain ugly. This movie has it all. But having been there and seen that with similar movies, it's not new. Narration, style and acting will always be the key. Movie is lengthy though needlessly. Could be 30 mins short Finally, Telangana Telugu is much more direct, gets to the point cutting BS. In my experience, T people come to the point quickly as well. Never observed it closely until this film. Loved it. All the controversy about kissing, sex in college, vulgar language - don't matter much. Our hormones start working from 13-14. Our generation has •••••• those hormones by post-pining marrie (sexy) to after 30 years. Time to do some balance to them. But ya,if ts nit safe, kids and STDs will complicate lives. Our society has encouraged abstinence in public and guesstimate visits in the night. At least, in this movie, hero, heroine and the director Vanga are honest. Watch it once. If you like it, watch it again. I won't, though |
