I havent read / didnt see anything from govt wrt this. I think India shares all financial information related to NRI/NREs but US doesn't provide financial information to India abt NRIs. but US might provide information abt US citizens but India residents | ||

Vomerica is forcing all big nations to sign FATCA and be compliant with it... so if your Indian bank knows you are an NRI (thru NRE/NRO account)...they will ask you to fill a FATCA sheet.. | ||

few things to remember If you have Adhar, u must link by 31st August (I think) if you dont have Adhar, pending application, Must by 31st Dec, otherwise PAN will be invalid. if you are non-resident, you cannot have savings accounts in India, only you should have NRI/NRE accounts. for now, govt didnt say what they are going to do with NRIs PANs. Probably they might keep NRI PANs valid until ever extending deadlines like PIO to OCI conversion.... But thuglak govt as like any other previous policy, no thoughts, just give some dead line and they layout some plans... they dont do analysis on all stake holders involved and plan accordingly | ||
