@emc2...zing! zing! amazing! if you compare dc metro area salaries to nyc, bay area...they will always be less , particularly in non-govt. ...fin-tech, product finra is like the other giants in the area - fannie, freddie...once you are in and carve your way , it is a place where you settle down for a long time culturally , better than fannie freddie ani talk..but your kismat could depend on the type of team, co-workers, business unit etc, you are in (same would be the case of 99% of the best companies in corporate america) have seen many ppl who got in as testers , mid level devs end up as product/project mgrs...change teams when they feel they are stagnated , work on new challenging projects have not seen many ppl who left finra to make a lateral move...mostly were changing profile/back to contracting wifey worked as contractor in finra for 7+ years ...if not for us moving to ashburn she would have accepted FTE without any hesitation | ||
