You are wrong,the oxygen level is same as sea level,but very low density Aircrafts compressors within the engine compress the low density outside air ..the hot compressed air from the compressor (bleed air) is then transported via ducts to the A/C packs..and through heat exchangers and to the cabin BTW ,if there is no oxygen,have you ever wondered how the jet engine combustion takes place at higher altitudes | ||

as a matter of fact,Airplanes do not have separate air conditioning system.At higher altitudes ,the temperature is in sub zero (as we all know for every 1000 ft height ,the temperature drops by 1 degree centigrade) The general cruising altitude is 30,000 ft and the temperature will be around -31 degrees .Aircraft's have Air Cycle machine that uses atmospheric air (which is pure and chilled) to circulate into the cabin and exhaust hot and impure air from cabin But on ground ,the airplanes depend on external a.c sources fed to Air Cycle Machine..so in this case it is utter failure of airport ground handling to provide air conditioning to plane and not the airlines or airplane | ||
