No one is more qualified in India than SRT, Dada and Lax to decide who would make the ideal batting and bowling coaches especially for foreign tours. Zak even when playing for India was the unofficial bowling coach for young pacers and they still swear by him. Dravid's batting prowess overseas is legendary and arguably our greatest batsman ever on foreign soil. Could someone care to explain how CAC made a mistake by recommending these two? Already Kohli got his cheerleading coach as he wanted.... Does he now want even CAC to be his puppet naming wat he feels like? They are entitled to name the best people they deem fit for the job and not even a single recommendation by them is short of perfection frankly. Yes I am telling that! | ||

Rahul Dravid might have been named the batting consultant (overseas) of the Indian cricket team with the Cricket Advisory Committee â comprising of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman â appointing a new head coach in Ravi Shastri and a bowling consultant in Zaheer Khan. But Dravid it seems is still more keen to work in the supply line and focus on the job of mentoring youngsters in the India âAâ and U-19 teams. Speaking to CricketNext, a senior BCCI official said that Dravidâs priority is the junior teams and he wants to ensure that he is able to provide the senior team with the proper bench strength if and when required. âSee, the consultantâs position was given because for Dravid the junior teams are his priority. He is still very much keen to work closely with the juniors and provide the senior team with quality talent who can break into the team and fit the demands of the coach and captain whenever needed. So, the assignment with the senior team will be on a time to time basis and not permanent,â he said. When asked if that meant that Dravid will not travel to Sri Lanka for the upcoming tour, the official said: âHe will not be in Sri Lanka and will be with the âAâ team in South Africa.
