i am not sure of the technicality of graduation....generally if you want to be on a student visa, you have to take 9 credits every semester ( to be a full time student) except for summer.... in case of doing thesis/dissertation, you take a 1 thesis credit during the semester when you are completing the degree... i dont know if you need to such credits when u defer your graduation... (have you deferred your graduation by a semester?).... | ||

ayithe H4 ki apply cheseyyatam betteru....AFAIK whenever i went to india on a student visa, i had to have my I-20 signed by the University official /grauduate school ....i think once you graduate your I20 expires | ||

wife was also in same scenario....changed from h4 to f1 for studies..got F1 visa stamped last year in india..dash gaadu 5 years ki ichadu ...F1 OPT was expiring end of this month so had lawyer apply for H4 and H4 EAD cos in may...got h4 and H4 EAD approved in less than 4 weeks...before end of F1/F1 OPT status apply for H4 or go to india and have H4 stamped...my lawyer suggested this but wife was working and no holiday so ikkade application padesamu H4 ki | ||

Planning to convert wife's F1 to H4 (2 years back we converted her H4 to F1). Saw couple of posts on filing through COS i539 form. Kakapothe chinna doubt, as she is travelling to india in next 2 months, can she go directly to embassy by booking an appointment and get a H4 stamping done ? (like first time H4 stamping veyichukunattu) |
