For a data scientist - understanding statistical data analysis, data models and algorithms is a must. Ofcourse with experience some folks can do this, but that would be one of the primary tasks for this role. Data Engineer, and Implementation engineer is more suitable for folks with core CS knowledge. Math and Statistical knowledge will help a lot in this field as a data scientist. Anyway - same questions have been asked from a few other folks.. any info please post here and i will send it to them. | ||

I have no idea about Big Data...generally Big Data lo chaala different roles and responsibilities System Admins - Hadoop/Spark ilanti systems deployment and maintenance Developers/Machine Learning Engineers - Data Scientist ichina statistical models ni teesukoni either Python/Java/C++ language lo implement cheyyatam. For this role it's good have statistics background but not necessary though Data Scientist - Most of the good companies hire only PhD's for this role. "The Data Scientist is typically trained to be stronger in Statistics, while the ML Engineer is typically trained to be stronger in Computer Science, however the two usually know a lot about what the other does and can work together to iterate and optimize." what I suggest is get comfortable with one programming language atleast...domain doesn't matter okka language aina vasthey...edho oka dantlo set avvochu (health care/insurance/finance/systems/big data) people are willing to give you a chance if you can prove that you have strong skillset in one language atleaset | ||
