Good summary. He worked very hard to carve out his niche and uniqueness. He succeeded where IR failed by expanding his network and getting resourceful. He has been lately adapting R&B, blues and jazz a lot more in his music. Not all of his popular songs appeal to my taste but I respect the amount of hard work he puts in each song he composes. ARR after working with many music directors figured out where he can score to be successful anipistundi. Appatiki SPB/Mano/Chitra voices became monotonous. Classical songs lo no one can beat IR. So he took side track to compose modern music with classical touch initially with different voices that clicked instantly those times. Then he left out the classical touch and started to cater to different regions moved on to Hindi and later to Hollywood got a wider audience and popularity. His talent is in many different areas like sound arranging. That too help him a lot. Some scenes standing out,, Jayaprada giving invitation to Kamal Jayaprada running on the beach to meet Kamal, but finding her husband. ARR is the best sound engineer you can get. it's below him to do that stuff now. --------------------------------------------------- enti annay marinu, he might have given some inputs or would have asked him to change the way certain instrument especially flute used to sound before.. but Sridhar is renowned sound engineer by the time ARR came into picture Sridhar was the Chief Audio Engineer at Media Artists Chennai. A mathematics graduate, with keen interest in electronics and formal music training, he started a professional sound engineering career in 1988. He had engineered over 200 films and worked closely with directors like Mani Ratnam, K Balachandar, Bharathiraaja, Shankar, Kamal Hassan, P C Sreeram, Priyadarsan, Sibi Malayil and Ramgopal Varma. Among Sridhar's many professional credits was the fact that he engineered all songs and background scores for the renowned music director A R Rahman. Some ground-breaking films to his credit are Roja, Gentleman, Kadhalan, Thiruda Thiruda, Bombay, Duet, Mahanadi, Rangeela, Kuruthippunnal, Muthu, Indian, Minsaara Kanavu and Iruvar. He also engineered the background music score and songs for the national award winning film Kalapani for music director Ilaiyaraaja and Minasaara Kanavu for music director A R Rahman. | ||
