ofcourse it is... here is my essay: Till now movie business has been looked at as.... X number of callsheets = Y amount of money. Release it in Z number of theatres with first week having maximum number of shows in a way public can attend. Sell sattelite rights make money get out in 1year. Story should hit audience with a single point, some songs with a party number and some comedy. Now story-wise baahubali didnt do anything different. Songs they really made it tailored to story and didnt care about party number as they didnt have scope for it. But what did Baahubali do different? It increased the canvas, but so did Ra One or Ashoka or Bajirao...., In baahubali case they created stronger characters... and everyone can root for a different personality.. they are grey characters as SSRM described in an interview for BB1. That did not stop there... he then created back stories for each character. But did not show that in movie... he created spinoff stories and left some clues in the movie for future development.... Then they did 360deg marketing in all channels (not TV channels, Comiccons, game conferences, theatre events, comics, tv series, novels, social marketing etc) And to do it and engage audience you can not do it with Single strong character.. you need to have multiple characters and stronger content in terms of that. This is not something new, Marvel, disney have been doing that with X-men, avengers, starwars etc. But SSRM created unique ones that are more indian... And finally Hatsoff to Shobu Yarlagadda to come up with this and executing to the T. | ||
