Baahubali is a gamechanger and we sure can't get enough of it. Lets give it a break momentarily though and dive into sm other brilliance of SS Rajamouli other than the collections.

One of the reasons why Rajamouli always stood apart and his USP, was always the way he projected his 'anti-hero' - Villains. They are always larger than life and unique. And usually so good, you start feeling for the Hero. And only then does the Hero's elevation gives us those famous goosebumps moments his movies are so famous for.

But for that, the Big Bad men had to be extremely special and give us the chills. SSR gave us some unforgettable villains throughout and the below is my definitive ranking of them.

The ranking is based on their Characterization, Performance, Look and Other Mean Skills.

10 Movies in All and 10 Bad Villains:

10. Satya in Student No.1 - Played by an excellent Rajiv Kanakala, Satya is the guy you would love to hate in College. His characterization is mean enough to warrant whistles when he gets chased down in the college corridors.
Bada$$ Rating: ***

10. Ramineedu in Maryada Ramanna - Played by debutant Nagineedu, he technically isn't an actual villain, but is shrewd enough in typical Rayalseema style to kill his enemy's son while maintaining a code of honor for his guest. Whatsmore, he raises up his sons to be as good/worse as him. A straightforward performance from Nagineedu without being melodramatic.
Bada$$ Rating: ***

09. Bala Nair in Simhadri - Played by a young Rahul Dev, Bala Nair gave us a cross state Villain. He is the younger brother of the Big Bad and his sidekick does most of the talking for him (Good way to hype up). He comes up with some mean kinky $hit. And who can forget the famous chase where he gets hacked in a rousing BG score?
Bada$$ Rating: ***

08. Narayana in Yamadonga - Played by Narendra Jha, Narayana even gets an exclusive Villain Introduction scene showing what a bada$$ he is. With an Eyebrow piercing Ring and a Scar to boot, he looks the part. He also gets distinction being one of only Villains to Pack Off the hero pretty soon.
Bada$$ Rating: ***

07. Titla in Vikramarkudu - Played by Ajay, one couldn't believe it was him. Sporting a mean look, he looked the part of an outlaw bandit straight from Hell. He is mean enough to keep a few districts under his control and played a worthy foil to Vikram Rathore. The scene where he emerges from the statue is sheer awesomeness.
Bada$$ Rating: *** 1/2

06. Bikshu Yadav in Sye - One of the most impactful villains of the time, Pradeep Rawat rocks as Bhikshu. Sporting a huge Nose Ring and as a Cigar huffing hulk, his performance is equally menacing. You just feel for the Hero gang that they were simply not going to stand a chance against this guy one to one. Even has a angry Bison as his symbol with a ruthless gang. Terrific Character!
Bada$$ Rating: ****

05. Kaatraaj in Chatrapathi - Who can forget Supreeth as Kaatraaj. With the look and heft of a single eyed monster, he mouths his dialogue with even more menace, "Sora anukunnav bey....Kaatraj.....namili paarestha".
He is the reason why Chatrapathi's Interval Block went to such a high and his towering frame gives us the chills so much so that even Prabhas pales in front of him. No wonder the movie goes downhill later post interval without such a powerful villain.
Bada$$ Rating: ****

04. Kalakeyaa in Baahubali The Beginning - Played by a monstrous Prabhakar, Kaalakeya as the warrior king of the badass cannibal tribe, the huge hammer wielding guy is so strong with an army so huge, it takes nothing less than the combined might of Baahubali and BhallaDeva to bring him down. His look is gory enough to give children/adults sleepless nights and he blabbers his weird language to an even more devastating effect.
Bada$$ Rating: ****

03. Ranadev Bhilla in Magadheera - Played by the debutant Dev Gill, this guy packs a serious punch. His skill with the spear is as scary as his wickedness. Doesn't think twice to sacrifice his king to the invading Sher Khan and striking a deal with him. Ranadev Bhilla is shown as mean, strong, athletic and a weapons specialist - A worthy rival to the great Kalabhairava.
Bada$$ Rating: **** 1/2

02. Sudeep in Eega - Played outstandingly by Sudeep, he is a refreshing Villain who is as suave as he is twisted. His introduction scene is menacing even without a fight. He sees, he conquers. He is Rich, roguely handsome, an expert shooter and scarily intelligent. And as the antagonist, he gives the performance of a lifetime. Of all the villains in the list, this guy seems the most natural of them all and you absolutely do not want to encounter this guy in real life. Trust me, Nani never even had a chance in human form.
Bada$$ Rating: *****

01. Bhalladeva in Baahubali - Played by Rana, Bhalla is Handsome, Graceful, Imposing, Cunning, Intelligent apart from being an expert wielder of a crazy retractable Chain Mace and a scathing chariot and IMMENSELY POWERFUL!!!

This guy is as bad as they come and ruthless enough to kill his own mother with the bow she gifts nonetheless. He is also the only one in the list, who truly fulfills his dreams and enjoys his dominance for a long long time.

There was always going to only one Bada$$ of them all - BHALLADEVA!!!

Bada$$ Rating: *****

Best Performance - Sudeep
Best Mean Look - Kaalakeya
Best Overall - Bhalladeva

Once again, Kudos to SSR for having coming up with such exceptional villains in all his movies. Heck, even the least ranked villain here can be a great villain in other Directors' movies. They'd better use SSR's list as a dictionary to create great commercial villains. They simply don't get badder than them. And SSR has mastered the art of the Big Bad Men.

This was my 2 cents. Plz do come up with your own rankings too.
