Jeffa:

Do you know flipping the houses in the real estate?
Ebay did the same.. flipping the ecommerce sites..
eBay bought bazee.com in India way back (I was a part of Bazee conversion into eBay plaform those days). https://investors.ebayinc.com/releasedetail.cfm?releaseid=13 7656

Also they bought eachnet.com from china and I was also a part of that conversion at around the same time.

Now eBay is selling the same bazee.com (with eBay flavor around) to flipcart.. for a huge profit.
Also eBay did the same thing in China for eachnet. :-)

Flipping buisness ...

I do remember bazee
I think Ebay also bought paisapay and integrated/migrated to paypal

The deal valued eBay’s India unit at $200-$250 million, according to two people familiar with the matter.
Ebay ki $250mn endi?? ANtha emundi akkada.... Tippi tippi kodithey $20 mn revenue ney ledhu...There is something fishy here..
Flipkart shelled out $300 for myntra..which was very fair deal.

According to documents available with the Registrar of Companies (RoC), eBay’s revenue grew 23% to Rs.132.10 crore in FY15. Its revenue had grown 33% to Rs.107.60 crore in FY14 from Rs.81 crore the year before.

, B2B is bigger market and Alibaba is known for B2B

desam lo inko decade easy padathadi for b2b to evolve.

main reason - admin dept in the companies would not be willing to let go their commissions. of course, ee baba and co bhi istaaru anuko :D

Chanakya:

I agree on B2B, but if they're delivering from China, it's slow and the price point advantage vanishes. Flipkart could give a better product and faster delivery for a few bucks more, which people would take

Only way for alibaba to beat that would be to open up manufacturing in India, and that's probably not going to be easy. If they do open up in India, I expect that they are looking longterm, but right now, they can't compete in logistics

Firstly its cash rich, Amazon ki pota poti..... 2nd it need not start from scratch, it will utilize it high bet investment PAYTM, most likely it will merge snapdeal (apatlo talks nadichayi)
