Depends on the industry - while it is a financial impact , it's not like a major %age of women is on maternity leave at any given time.. Also most women decide to quit the work force at that time when they are expected to go back to work too early - giving them a little more time will help retain them and all the knowledge and training! Really good move ! It is awesome for the new mom's to have the right to take the time off to take care of the baby for more than the 12 weeks given today.. just puts the woman and baby in a better state of health , especially with regards to post partum depression and nursing ! Kudos to Modi govt for making it happen...
