They have to do it because, when they load cash in ATM, the machine will log the amount. So they replaced originals with childrens monopoly money which is similar in size. |

http://www.news18.com/news/india/first-arrest-in-fake-rs-200 0-notes-dispensed-by-an-sbi-atm-in-delhi-1352627.html Two weeks after counterfeit notes were dispensed from an SBI ATM in Sangam Vihar, Delhi Police have arrested a man for the same. Also Read: SBI ATM in Delhi Spits Out Fake Rs 2,000 Notes by 'Children Bank of India' The man has been identified as Mohd Isha. The 27-year-old Isha has done his graduation from Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. According to police, he was the custodian of cash at the time it was being placed in the ATM. The accused was working with Brinks Arya Pvt Ltd and was responsible for placing the cash in ATMs. Though police suspect indulgence of more than one person in it, the accused, during his interrogation, hasn't named anyone. But senior policemen have assured that any conclusion could be drawn only after a detailed interrogation. According to Romil Baanya, DCP (South East), this was Isha's first brush with crime; he wanted to make quick money and hence got into such a thing. Investigation has revealed that the counterfeit notes, used by accused, are easily available in the market - they are part of the board game called Business/monopoly. Baaniya also told CNN-News18 that they have requested people to come forward if they have also received counterfeit notes from ATMs. No Signature |
