Anthamidhya:@OM - You spoke about extended labor during your kid's birth. Here in my circle I got to know of one more case where the baby had restricted blood flow during birth and some complications. So they suggested OT/Speech from the birth which the parents followed.That kid is 5 and doing pretty good for the most part. I only got to know him recently. Hopefully mee vishayam lo kuda ilantidhe ayyi, kid will get better with time n therapies.
My son was born after emergency C-section because his heartrate slowed down drastically...he had meconium aspiration which leads to cerebral hypoxia which in turn can cause autism...we were depressed for weeks after his birth for the fears that he might get autism and our nightmares became true !

as of now India lo baga vuntunnadu... ninna bayataki vellinappudu evariko (complete stranger) bye cheppamante, cheyyi wave chestoo by cheppadanta.. felt very happy.. he never waves while saying bye.. bye cheppetappudu eye contact kooda vundadu general ga.. but ninna avanni vunnayi anta..

psychological issues vunde vallu vuntaru.... oke parents ki puttina kids lo kooda IQ differences vundochhu...low IQ vallani autism category lo veseyalem....I have seen a moderately severe kid.....palm grip, stimming, 'W' style sitting....ilanti vallani ithe I have never seen in India before... |

In one case difference between eldest and youngest is 10 years and in another just 1 year....youngest one are having issues...I strongly believe chemical abuse along with food and genetics are the major contributing factors...
Like Cancer there wont be much focus on the cause but rather focus will be on how to cure... because that brings in lot of money to corporates and employment to the govt...

similar to the way people never accepted that abnormal behavior to psychological problems, fearing the kid will be termed as PIchhi.
I know few of such persons but could never relate it to autism or something as i never heard of that word until I saw it in DB

yes, he is diagnosed with being on spectrum, more towards high functional.
Not categorized as Aspergers as he has speech issues, it seems Aspergers kids have excellent speech skills, in many cases even better than typical peers.
@Nihil,
i have a strong feeling that environmental factors are contributing. I also feel that cell phone might be one of the factors. From What i have seen so far, the percentage is incredibly high when both parents are in technology fields. Again, not based on official research. but there are some interesting articles related to this. |
