Nagarjuna's devotional film Om Namo Venkatesaya directed by K. Raghavendra Rao is off to a shockingly poor start in US. It has collected a paltry $16K from its Thursday premieres, which is very low considering the price it was bought for. US distribution rights of Om Namo Venkatesaya were bought for Rs. 5 crore, which means it has to collect $1.3 Million to be a safe venture for its buyer. Nagarjuna’s recent track record in US was highly impressive that the distribution company invested huge money in ONV. Also they were confident that the devotional genre will ensure huge attendance, but Om Namo Venkatesaya failed to take a good opening.
