that is what made the movie great for me. Superhero movies first nunde your belief will be suspended.. this movie makes you believe it's real and moves into Its ultimate reality. That skype call with doctor and other world wide doctors had a big role in making us believe all of this is happening in reality. For me, starting from that scene where he enters the subway with flowers, it started to get restless .. something is happening and I am not able to figure out. Aa run in the subway is very cartoonish.. jumping and crawling on walls very comic book like ... but still didnot make connection . When the movie came to scene before Bruce willis climax... I was like .. ok movie was good ... but last lo hadavidi ekkuva chesadu .. nothing special Anna feeling vasthundhi.. Before that thought marinates in you, Boom !!! Bruce Willis scene happens.. you get hyper excited . Suddenly, you are in a different movie... it is indeed special !! | ||

infact all super hero movies do that but we know upfront what to expect. but Split shocks you in the end. anyways.. ground set for mcAvoy as super villian vs Bruce Willis. | ||

Shayamalan Sixth sense was extrordinary. he creates a reality that changes the reality you have seen so far. Twist anedhi chala chinna mata. After a few duds, he turns back to his original stye...literally . I will explain my experience, remember you should go to shyamalan movies without any reviews. The trailers gave away quite a bit but you will still be looking for that something you did not see. First few mins, I started wondering if casey was really the one with split personality. the way she is seprated from other two kids. That thought is changed once she gives that gross advice to other girl to pee on herself as she is being dragged..now the story is moving on. Kevin and his split personalities clash and collaboration was very well done. The girls are trying to escape and survive. The doctor character starts giving credibility to those personalities. Now you are vested into story and start following the ascent of beast. Meanwhile, casey with all her instincts from her past abuses is putting up a valid fight. Her interactions with Hedwig are well made. All along a very good story line and plot is being built. Then the movie goes into next phase. patricia, Dennis take over. the doctor who believes in helping her patients ( instead of losing them into system) gets into the act. Now she is trying to save Kevin and the girls. So far pretty intense.. heading towards good finale. Now kevin enters the subway.. ( Ekkado chusinattu vundhi.) he puts flowers on the floor and enter the train. Transformation of beast starts. (emi jaruguthundhi ikkada... tension!!) THe beast has some super human powers( How is this possible!!) . The he comes back, kills the doctor who leaves a clue to get him back. Casey was able to briefly revivie him. Then he tells her how to destroy him before he turns beast. she fights him of and shoots him but he doesnt seem to be totally injured(NO clue where this is heading!!!). The he sees scars on her and lets her go.. 'The broken are move evolved( malli edho eerie feeling.. what is he saying. a zooworker saves her late.. then you see the philly •••( ekkado chusinattu vundhi!!) . We see a confident and determined casey talking to police officer. Finally Dennis and other split personalities talking about how invincible he is.. mention of 'THe Horde' .. IF this is the end of movie, that is pretty good. SO ok ankonni started to get up... Then camera goes to a diner. there is talk about a guy like this about 15 years back.. Willis says it is Mr.Glass... ( adhi.. unbreakable, this whole thing is setup in UNbreakable reality) ante ippudu dhaka manam chusidhi antha super hero realm lo story. Night Frigging Shayamalan!!! It completely changes the movie for you.. now you start going back into the movie and rereading the clues. So the story is no longer a reality, we are in a fictional world a comic book, super hero world.... Suddenly, super human beast is very much possible. How to connect dots. Kevins father died when he was 3 in a subway accident(Flowers on subway). Since then his mother abused him which led to his 23 split personalities. Mr. Glass created several accidents includinng subway accidetns to find David Dunn. In process of finding super hero, he also created a super villian, THe horde(assuming Kevins dad died in one of those subway accidents and that caused his ultimate transformation to beast). This is secret sequel to the movie 'UNbreakable'. That is how a sequel should be taken. Now the ground is set for super hero David Dunn vs the horde, beast in the finale. What does Mr. Glass do ? All of a sudden I find myslef connecting to old time friends during 'Unbreakable' days and each one is equally excited. I rememeber few months back I wrote a review on 10 Cloverfield, how story goes one way most and suddenly there is a different story. It takes a master story writer to do that. Split blends well with Unbreakable and is very credible because shayamalan has really created the horde during the script for UNbreakable. Hopefully, I created a little clarity and curiousty for all you who are kids back when unbreakable was cult!!! |
