I don't know much about AWS andi. My line of work is different. There are probably others on the board who can help you. I am more into Azure. Yes, these are serverless services of course. If you are planning to design an application using microservices (and in turn nanoservices), you can either use a managed infra layer such as Azure Service Fabric - especially if you are into stateful as well as stateless, but if you really work on your architecture and can design it as a set of loosely coupled fairly independent microservices, you can use a serverless paradigm instead of managed infra - Azure Functions or AWS Lambda or Google Cloud Functions. On the topic of SaaS, these are sometimes used to extend capabilities of SaaS offerings as well. Having said that, it is still in nascent phase.
