Dravid's mom did her doctorate at a late age and he obviously remembers the effort that goes into it and getting a doctorate on a platter would be disrespectful to her and to other PhDs in general. | ||

Respectable gesture by Dravid... But I understand the purpose of such felicitations is to honour the person for their immense contribution to that field which is much more than jst reasearching a topic/project & not necessary literal research. Honorary Doctorates are a milder version of Padma Awards. And frankly the irony is....his batting and technique is so close to perfection, that studying it warrants a textbook itself and is akin to doin research on the same. Dravid mst hav slightly misunderstood the point there but still respect. | ||
