from the story I read, he knows swimming, but not well enough. He jumped into the pool, was lying there down, and an experienced swimmer went to bring him up, he tried to drag her down instead of coming up. Something went totally wrong

He was working for Nintendo in Seattle. In office raffle he won free trip to Hawaai and during vacation this happened

Update reg the GoFundMe campaign and another campaign

Also want to give an update on why we have 2 campaigns, we have created campaign as soon as we come to know about Sunil. The Incident actually happened on Monday evening. But it came to our notice only on Wednesday afternoon (when i say our - some of Sunil friends in Seattle area). as soon as we heard the news and came to know about the air lifting and medical aid we created a campaign in GoFundMe. He have insurance, but as per the social worker in Hawaii information, the airlifting cost won’t be covered by insurance.

we created the campaign and distributed the link to multiple friends over WhatsApp.

later one of our friend educated us saying, GoFundMe charges 8% and You caring charges only 3%. So we ended up creating one more campaign in you caring. we didn’t close the GoFundMe campaign as it was already sent to multiple people and we don’t want any Impact to the campaign.

Please UNDERSTAND that we didn’t use lot of brain but just used our heart and done all this.

Now the situation is deteriorating we are bringing the campaign amount down. At this stage all we can do Is pray for Sunil, and hope for the best. And support the family in what ever way we can.

And TRUST us the family said they don’t need all this, but we as well-wishers planned all this thinking about the needs thinking this will at least some support to kids.

Below is the email from our friend.
Vamshi,

It is great how you come forward and do your best to help out families in need. Good to the see your effort and hel pout a little whenever possible. I noticed that Gofundme collects 5% and then additional 3% for the credit card fee. Take a look at youcaring.com which doesn't have the mandatory 5% which would be very useful for the families.

Chandra.
