How will it give a clue if they run a digital campaign? People might think another gimmick from govt to tick the digital checkbox but they could have pushed it hard or atleast give them some options.

Pumping in lower denominations.. as jai TDP told, instead of 2000 rs, they should have started with 500 rs.. pain would be less

Most of the ideas here would have given clues away that there is some ban and people would take precautions to save black cash before the announcement.

Only option I think is for Modi to not do it in this term and prepare ground and announce it in future.

1 year before the process, Supply POS machines free of cost to all the retailers and Public outlets. Probably 30K Cr would be the cost. Don't put any minimum transaction limitations.

Print only 100 & 50 notes for 1/3 of the currency and keep it ready. 100 should be the highest denomination. Costly affair, around 1 Lakh Cr but only one time effort for greater good.

I proposed the below process. But he didnt listen. Talent ni thokkesarandi.

*******

1 year before the process, Supply POS machines free of cost to all the retailers and Public outlets. Probably 30K Cr would be the cost. Don't put any minimum transaction limitations.

Print only 100 & 50 notes for 1/3 of the currency and keep it ready. 100 should be the highest denomination. Costly affair, around 1 Lakh Cr but only one time effort for greater good.

When ur ready with both the above, announce Demonetization.

Announce just 30 days time to deposit 500 & 1000 notes, till then the currency should be valid except for Gold purchase and currency conversion to dollars. 50+90 days time is too much time for corruption.

Allow another 30 days for those who missed and for the retailers who collected till then to deposit but under heavy scrutiny.

Do not allow deposits into Jandhan accounts for first 15 days. Publicize the info properly that all the black money saved will be shared with Jan dhan account holders with zero or 10K only transactions so far. Allow a maximum of 50K only from 16th day.

Allow only 30K cash withdrawal limit per month from any account. A permanent setup. 95% people doesn't need money more than 30K in hard cash. Allow withdrawing 30K in one transaction to avoid burden on banks. Corporate Current accounts can have exemptions with valid proofs.

Since currency is valid for 30 days, do not allow currency exchange.

Maintain two special counters in all banks to fund without any question or limit. One for Defense, One for Education. Allow them to deposit with complete anonymity with banners - I support Indian Army !! I support Poor Indian Students !!. VDS-2 scheme is not required.

Announce Surcharge & Transaction charge waiver for all card transactions. And announce 2% cash back to consumers for all retail transactions made through card. Name the cash back as "To make India Great Again". Govt has to bear the total 5% loss considering the incoming GST (20%) and Income Tax on all the hidden transactions so far.

After completion of this Demonetization process, announce that 1Kg Gold per family is fully exempted from IT and all the Gold has to be declared within 100 days. This makes further transactions to be transparent. If anything above 1Kg through ancestry, should get declared too showing evidence to IT dept about parents history. 99% don't have an issue. For 1%, Govt has to deal.

1. As you rightly pointed out - pump in more 100s into the market.
2. Get rid of payment gateway charges for debit cards at least and run a campaign to use cashless transactions.
3. Go to Tirupati and pray
4. Go to Haji Ali and pray
5. Go to Basilica of Bom Jesus and pray
6. Go to Golden Temple, serve in the kitchen

digital campaign may not have helped, instead they should have provided some incentives to digital adaptation for businesses

and should have pumped lot of lower denominations upto 100's

most of the people think that its a good idea but not implemented correctly, what better govt/RBI could have been done.

My view

1) pump in more lower denominations from past 1 year
2) they should have a run a digital campaign and spend some money (schemes) in actually helping small business to adopt to it from last year.

your thoughts???
