making more money always keep ppl motivated. you may not always be intereted in making money but think of something you always wanted to buy but decided not to coz you cant afford it. now sit down and think what you should do so that you can afford that. that keeps you motivated to work towards that goal.  | ||

kids , houses , laziness , and as you get older you loose the zeal you had once .. once you are in comfort zone , you feel not to move , like newtons laws of inertia, I have seen others who are always looking out of options .. but only few, H1b, marriage, kids , house , GC , Citizenship , FT .. and your priority on how much you need and what you think is ok to live with .. etc etc health etc - | ||

What does some one get by working .... Money, Happiness .... DO you keep the money you earn ... No way.... I came across many people, who has been working in the same for 10-20-30 years. How do people get motivation to work in the same company for so many years? unlike India, in US, career progression is slow. You tend to spend more years in the same position and doing the same job. Normally I get bored in 2 years. Unless working on new technologies, new products, I cant work on the same things/same systems for years... My biggest problem, Once I feel comfortable in the product/ssytem, I postpone things because I knew it can be done over night...I dont have discipline, work-life balance... |
