But 2 long term benefits for sure: 1) The money that came into open is good for the economy in many ways: It will increase the circulation istead of stagnating. Today's banking systems have much more traceable than in the past. So, its like a huge reset with more ability to track where it is going. There can be more follow-up on the source of these sudden deposits in future. 2) They are not going to introducd real currency equal to 15 lakh crores that is being taken out. So, far they only printed 1.5 lakh crores, they will print some more but the total will be far less than the old currency. Rest will be electronic currency. So, more transactions will have to be electronic. Idhi Modi himself mentioned in his original speech. | ||

Yeah..that's the follow thru. Question is where is all that money supposed to be flushed out. Thinking it thru...govt tax revenue increase(which inefficiency, corruption will waste it eventually), adding liquidity to dying banks are the main reasons than anything else. First hand information from a large business. Normally, they maintain 30 crores in various bank accounts. Last 2 days lo the deposited an additional 60 crores into bank accounts. If IT catches them, they will try to claim it as recent revenue...ayinda pattukunte they will have to pay penalty. IT pattukuntundha ledha teliyataniki will take an year. At the minimum, they will to pay tax on the 60 crores which they would not have normally paid. | ||
