cool. is yahoo the only API you are using , or you are using multiple APIs and consolidating the data? my idea is to grab all the signals from various sources, back test it(dont know how  ), and then pick a reliable strategy. seems you did make some progress. in my case, its all theoretical at this stage. have to get this done by EOY. Iam running small. Net Windows service to get EOD data from Yahoo app and calculate different MA's, fibonocci retracemeets, boillinger bands, Macd, rsi, bullish/bearish engulfing, Harami, hammer, down candles and store that info in sql server. That service sends an r mail with all these triggers. I still have to do lot of analysis and back testing and come up with some kind of rating/signals but am lazy to do all these | ||

If basic stuff is ok for you. If data analysis doesn't show up in excel, go to options and select 'solver add in' You'll have quite a few statistical analysis tool including MA. Again this is basic .. not very user friendly . There are a lot better one ..I used premium solver but lately there are even better excel plugins depending on how much you want to spend | ||

option pricing which you said i have never researched before so idea ille. regarding rest: MA - Exponential or Simple both are easy to code using excel formula Bullish/Bearish - MACD , RSI lantivi also easy to code, mari complex indicators aithe not sure if Excel can handle but indicator like macd which again depend on MA are not that hard to implement. with above done, i think build rest - how many days a stock was above 30D MA or how many consecutive days its bullish.
