Andhrawala:

yes, both are almost same coverage, for our needs.

Employer plan ($1027) has a few more networks out of our area. But, we never traveled out of town.

Self plan ($685) is local network with Carolina Healthcare System. It has our preferred doctors and facilities.

Self insurance ayithey, vere contract job lo kooda maintain cheyyochu. Employer ayithey, malli vethukkovaali.

Rasputin:

Self insurance = $685 per month (after tax)
Employer insurance = $1027 per month (pre tax)

Difference = $342 = 33.3%

Can we really save 33.3% by taking the pretax option? 25% fed tax bracket + 5.75% state tax = 30.75% only. Social sec + Medicare will be the same anyways.

Am I missing something?

Both are same coverage??

Is 685 for 3 people including ur little one.

Insurance agent ni choosukondi, they do all the legwork, apply, and then setup auto payment options etc. I did the same for the last two years. It will be the same as what you see on Healthcare.gov, just more convenient to apply.

This year, here is my dilemma. Please share your recommendation.

Self insurance = $685 per month (after tax)
Employer insurance = $1027 per month (pre tax)

Difference = $342 = 33.3%

Can we really save 33.3% by taking the pretax option? 25% fed tax bracket + 5.75% state tax = 30.75% only. Social sec + Medicare will be the same anyways.

checking my options marketplace for the past 3 months. every time i see the plans they change drastically. deductibles and oop maximums and tax credits asalu oka sariki inko saariki ponthana undadhu with no info change from my side. I have been looking for PPO options but now i think i will go with even HMO. even they have ridiculous oop max amounts.
How do i enroll for insurance in a private marketplace ? I just went from employed to self employed.
on a side note - dems and obama gaa thoo nee idea enduku raa saavad..gutaavu janaanni mee loudalo ideas tho
